Interaction with Local Community

We have interaction and integration with the local and wider community at the heart of all we do.

Links with Local Schools:
Fairfield House School has close relationships with local schools such as Broadoak High School nearby, providing ample opportunities for our older students to enjoy interaction with those in the mainstream sector.

Links with the Local Community:
Joining in with local events such as fairs is a firm favourite with our students and our neighbours often contribute in turn to our events, such as the Farm Open Day or Christmas fete.

Fairfield Communication Club was set up last year to provide an opportunity for young people with challenging behaviour and complex needs to access social activities. Currently running on a monthly basis, with a view to extending its provision to run alternatve weeks, this is providing an opportunity for young people from the local community to engage with our school for a range of activities and themed events.

Links with the Wider Community:
We consider ourselves to be part of a wider community of professionals, carers and service users with autism and learning disabilites across the country. We link into national events and campaigns to promote and enhance education services for young people with special needs.
